Back 2 Back U/17 Nafa League Champions

Saints Under 17 squad remained consistent throughout the year and lost some momentum during the season with lot’s of disruptions/wet logged weekends due to heavy rain. The catch up matches had to come thick and fast, but luckily the Saints U/17 had a very good start to the season and remained top the Group log, throughout the season.

The NAFA U/17 League Final play-off match versus Helenvale United was eventually scheduled. After the full time score at draw 1-1, the teams went straight to the penalties shootout. This was a back to back penalty shootout final with Helenvale United, Saints winning 4-3 after missing the first penalty. Saints goalkeeper, Tyrique George was the hero, saving back to back penalties in the process. Well done and thank Helenvale United for yet another tight contest for the NAFA League cup.

Congratulations and well done to the whole Saints U/17 Squad and management. A special thanks to Coach Aslam Sydow for moulding the Champions back to back, and another special thanks and well done to Captain Cole Frost for leading the boys yet again. The team and club can be very proud of this outstanding achievement.
